What to expect: It's been more than a year since the Internet lost its collective mind about Lady Dimitrescu, a 9-foot-6-inch undead female lady who, despite being Resident Evil Village's vampire adversary, became a Thirst Trap in Resident Evil Village. I really like women who are really, really tall and rather strict. Thankfully, Lady D. will be back with a new expansion that will put her under her control, and Capcom has just released a gameplay video of what it looks like.
Capcom revealed last month that Resident Evil Village will get a new story and a third-person mode from its upcoming DLC, The Winters' Expansion. The expansion also offers new mercenary missions featuring the game's three characters: hammer-wielding Carl Heisenberg, franchise regular Chris Redfield, and Lady Dimitrescu. The inclusion of Lady D. is especially welcome as she deserves more than her relatively short appearance in the base game.
The trailer starts with a new character available in mercenary mode. The first is Chris Redfield, as you might remember from the base game. He's a pretty bad ass. Here, he has enough firepower and an onslaught gauge, and killing enemies until he can activate them will increase his movement speed, reload and attack damage. He also gets a target detector to direct support attacks.
Meanwhile, Heisenberg can use his massive electric hammer and magneto-like metal control abilities to pull enemies closer and fire his saw blades. He can also summon Soldot Jet, a human who has been mutated into a jet pack and mechanically upgraded.
Finally, Lady Dimitrescu. Her point of view is obviously higher than most enemies, and she uses her claws to get the power to eliminate people, throw objects, and slam monsters to the ground. You can even call one of her vampire daughters when the thrill gauge is full.
The DLC pack features a single player Shadows o featuring the daughter of Ethan Winters, who is now a teenager.f Rose is also included. For expansion buyers, it takes place in third person mode, which can also be activated in the base game.
Winters' Expansion releases on October 28th. Pre-orders are now open.
