Probably both. I don't drink or smoke, so the only way I can relieve stress is through the internet and playing games. I like reading text on the screen, so I tend to look for and read books about stories, history, and settings related to games. That's why you often end up reading spoilers before playing a game. Sometimes, for games with very large universes like Warcraft, I intentionally look for spoilers and summaries.
