Why are steel coils are transported standing up?

The video perfectly explains it. It's too heavy and carrying it if it's sideways is just too hard. It's super heavy and the way to easily remove it from the truck bed once it's transported is if it's standing up. The first clip in the video is scary but my guess there was that it was not properly locked in place when it was put on the truck bed.
