The gaps between leaves during solar eclipse look like this

This is how most gaps between leaves look like when they cast the light in the shadows and shade. It's because the sun is covered during eclipse so instead of a whole space of light, they see rings like this. I guess this was kind of trippy to see back in the early centuries when people had no idea what a solar eclipse was.
