Most anime fans prefer the reboot over the original Fullmetal Alchemist. The manga wasn't finished when the original series aired. The studio decided to include original content, like many other anime series. Many fans were unhappy with Fullmetal Alchemist's open-ended ending, which was different from the manga. It lacked the series' best moment, the proposal.
