When it first aired, High School of the Dead surprised many viewers. Teens in the middle of a zombie apocalypse made this anime a cult classic. This zombie action thriller only got 12 episodes, or four manga volumes.
Fans who want to read the source material can't. Daisuke died before finishing. Manga and anime are unlikely to return soon.
