Hades, formerly regarded as Precht, is Fairy Tail's former second master and co-founder. After a catastrophe which left Fairy Tail's first master, Mavis, in a condition between life and death, he resorted to dark magic to bring her back to life, which led him to uncover a surprising discovery that put into question all he had ever known about magic. Precht left the guild to Makarov and founded Grimoire Heart as Hades to awaken the seemingly in-slumber Black Wizard's ancient power, aiming to acquire this peculiarity for himself.
