"The Grape" in the New Testament "I am the vine" Grapes appear many times in the New Testament. The following words are famous in the Bible. I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he removes, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes and grooms, that it may bear more fruit. (John 15:1-2) This "I" vine is Jesus Christ. The Father is God, the Creator. In the Old Testament, the vine referred to Israel, but in the New Testament, Christ is the true vine loved by God, and the branches of the vine refer to those who believe in Christ. It is said that if we, like the branches of the vine, adhere firmly to Christ, who is the trunk, we will bear abundant fruit. Vineyards appear in many of Jesus' parables in the New Testament. The owner of the vineyard, as we see here, is God the Father.
