Amazons (Ἀμαζών, Amazōn, plural Ἀμαζόνες, Amazónes) are a tribe of women that appear in Greek mythology. In Pindar and others, there is a variant called Amazonis (Ἀμαζονίς, Amazonis). In Japan, the macrons are omitted and they are called Amazons, but this word is used to refer to the place names that it originates from, and they are mainly called Amazones.
